Abe & Louie's in Boca Raton sets the mood for Valentine's Day

Type :Announcements

|South Florida Sun-Sentinel

On Valentine's Day, there's no such thing as a last-minute reservation. Keep that in mind as you ponder these 14 Feb. 14th-worthy restaurants.

Not all of the 14 restaurants here are dark and formal. Just a few are French. Because by now we know that romance can happen anywhere. At least we hold out hope.

Palm Beach County

Abe & Louie's: If only a classic and expensive steakhouse says romance to your partner, make a reservation here. 2200 W. Glades Road, Boca Raton, 561-447-0024.

The Addison: Set in the former office of Addison Mizner, the romantic tone starts when you enter a serene courtyard shaded by huge banyan trees. 2 E. Camino Real, Boca Raton, 561-395-9335.

L'Escalier: It might be the antique Flemish tapestries or the hushed style of service. But this is a special place for any celebration. The Breakers, 1 S. County Road, Palm Beach, 561-655-6611.

Olio Bistro: Part bohemian bistro, part wine store, finding Olio feels like arriving in a secret spot far from Atlantic Avenue. 42 SE Second Ave., Delray Beach, 561-278-6633.

Paradiso Ristorante: Resonates with a formality you usually only find in expensive Palm Beach County hotel dining rooms. Seafood is a specialty. 625 Lucerne Ave, Lake Worth, 561-547-2500.

De la Tierra at the Sundy House: Ask for a table for two set inside the lush garden. 106 S. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach, 561-272-5678.

Uncle Tai's: As South Florida Asian restaurants go, few can match the tony ambience of this Chinese favorite. 5250 Town Center Circle, Boca Raton, 561-368-8806.
