Abe & Louie's Voted #1 on Gayot's Best of Boston Steakhouses

Coverage
For once, a steakhouse with neither lofty culinary pretensions nor a bottom-line chain mentality. This Back Bay joint is a local product where leather booths, looming torchieres and a vaulted, gold-leaf ceiling make for a dramatic setting that ably feeds the self-importance of the suits who frequent it. Feeding their hunger, meanwhile, are hefty portions of flesh from a mostly traditional menu with just enough flourishes of seafood to suit lesser carnivores. Foodies who fail to be dazzled by flash will be less impressed---unless they follow our advice and skip the standard steak options in favor of the weekly specials, especially the mouthwatering crispy pork shank served Wednesdays.
